Quails' Gate Rosé Lucy's Block 2016

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaNikki Callaway's latest pink, Lucy’s Block Rosé, is named after the Stewart family’s Grandmother, Lucy Mary Whitworth. Its dry rosé (yeah) made from a 50/50 blend of single vineyard pinot noir and pinot meunier grapes from the young vines Westpoint Vineyard in East Kelowna. The colour is light salmon pink (could be lighter) and the wine is electric rosé. The nose is floral with red fruit nuances but the attack is super fresh with a citrus lead that permeates the watermelon, dried herbs, red fruit flavours finishing dry and clean at 1.9 residual. Fine balance. Think food including fresh seafood, bouillabaisse, paella, artisanal sausages and chicken kebabs with grilled vegetables.
