Crystallum Malabel Pinot Noir 2014

Overberg, South AfricaLightly bricking in hue, this pinot noir is from a high elevation (700m) single vineyard site in Overberg. Wild yeast fermented, this was destemmed, spent two weeks on the skins before another two weeks ferment before it went to barrel (30 percent new). After 14 months, it was sent to bottling. Forest moss, forest floor and earthy, with cherry, raspberry and tobacco throughout, and a lingering floral on the finish. Gently ripe, but with a lovely bright lift to carry.Tasted: 01 June 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
