Crystallum Malabel Pinot Noir 2015

Overberg, South AfricaThis finessed pinot noir is from a high elevation (700m) single vineyard site in Overberg. Wild yeast fermented, this spends two weeks on the skins before another two weeks ferment before barrel. Subtly smoked raspberry, cherry and plum in this youthful and juicy pinot noir. A pure core of fruit buoys the whole, with finely grippy spice to frame, and a warm medicinal, supple core to complete. Lovely violets on the finish. So young, and so much potential here. This vintage had only 10 percent whole cluster, before 11 months in barrel (20 percent new). Lightly bricking in hue, this pinot noir is from a high elevation (700m) single vineyard site in Overberg. Wild yeast fermented, this spend two weeks on the skins before another two weeks ferment before it went to barrel (30 percent new).Tasted: 01 June 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
