Little Engine Gold Chardonnay Reserve

Little Engine Gold Chardonnay Reserve 2014

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaDeep gold in hue, this Gold series chardonnay is from a majority of 26-year-old vines. It was whole cluster pressed and fermented—long and cool, in French oak with partial MLF before spending another 16 months in barrel with bi-weekly battonage. It’s built to be super rich and you feel it in this oaky, buttery and full white. At this point, almost overwhelming in the mouth, with dense wood, vanilla, lemon curd, butterscotch and ripe pear. Weighty, spicy and heady, this requires something rich to temper its power. Lots of folks like this style, almost ‘old California’, but we are looking for something less overt and over the top.Tasted: 12 June 2017Tasted by: Treve Ring & Anthony GismondiPrices: BC 55.00 winery direct Producer: Little Engine WinesDistributors: Winery Direct
