Pellegrino Passito de Pantelleria NV

Sicily, ItalyFrom the cellar. Warm marmelade, ash pervades this haunting passito de pantelleria, now showing its age (purchased the NV bottle 10+ years ago). 20-30 year old zibbibo (Muscat of Alexandria), 20 percent of which is nautally dried, carries sasparilla, earl grey, golden raisins, orange creamsicle and a fine raspy, pithy note on the very lengthy finish. Potently sweet, but with a potent savoury current to counter. This bottle, a decade on, is fading now, but newer bottles to market should shine.Tasted: 08 June 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
