Fort Berens Pinot Gris 2016

Lillooet, British Columbia, CanadaEighty percent of the grapes come from Lillooet and as fresh as they seem they were supercharged by the addition of 20 percent from the Similkameen. Partial whole cluster pressed, partial new American oak fermented, and all with Montrachet yeast—hints to where they want to go with this fuller wine. Ripe pear, yellow apple, fine spice on a round palate, easily lifted with acidity and a sun sweetness to the snappy, sage-dusted finish. The fruit absorbs all the wood handily here.
