Stag's Hollow Viognier Marsanne Kiln House Vineyard 2014

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaIt's not so often you get to taste a wee vertical of orange wine from BC, but with three vintages in front of me of Stag's hollow Viognier Marsanne, today's my day. Shining light orange / yellow in the glass, this 60/40 blend of viognier/marsanne came from Penticton's Kiln House Vineyard. After wild ferment and six weeks of skin contact in stainless, this was pressed into 4th year acacia barrel where it underwent MLF and spent 14 months on full lees before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. Pear and orange oil, Pear skin, crunchy Asian pear acidity, yellow apple, on a medium toned, slender body. There's a fine, riffing, salty texture that just houses this in. Impressive and alluring.Tasted: 25 July 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
