Stags' Leap The Leap Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Napa Valley, California, United StatesWe are fans of 2013 California cabernets at GOW and this tightly wound red is a good example. There is no Napa baby fat here, but rather a contoured, wiry, meaty, young cabernet that has years to go in the bottle. The palate is a rich smoky black fruit affair with a strong savoury undercurrent, calling for grilled beef at this point. The finish is similar with more mineral black fruit and bitter dark chocolate notes.
