The Hatch Rhymes with Door Hinge 2016

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaWhat rhymes with orange? Seems hinge is close enough (with an accent). This is certainly orange through and through, right up to its Stelvin top. Usually wineries falter matching label to hue, but The Hatch nailed it, as they did with the wine. Kerner, schönburger and chardonnay were co-fermented and left on their skins for six weeks in old puncheons. Like the 2015 this is all high-toned and shimmery with orange and apricot pith, perfumed with acacia blossom and kissed with apricots, tangerine and anise. Bone dry and grippy, this is a joyous adventure to enjoy now. Only 200 cases were made, so if you find yourself in threat of scurvy or just thirsty, seek and crack.Tasted: 24 July 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
