Ex Nihilo Merlot 2014

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe grapes were all handpicked at Seacrest Hill Road Vineyard in late October and fermented in La Garde stainless tanks. The juice spent some 40 days on the skins before ageing 18 months in one and two-year-old French oak barrels. The style is rich and round with warm spicy briary, black fruit reminiscent of Sonoma County with a plummy vanilla undercurrent. A fine improvement here and will be a hit with the hedonistic crowd who love the richer, fatter style of merlot. Best with grilled meat.Tasted: 11 August 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
