Hillside Merlot Dickinson Vineyard 2011

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaDickinson Vineyard is part of the Hillside single vineyard series. The site sits above the road en route to Naramata. The aromas and flavours are slightly richer and darker than the Goja’s Vineyard beginning with more black cherries, dark chocolate and savoury/cedar notes flecked with brown spice. The tannins are perfectly silky at this point. It is ready to drink. The fruit was given a 13-day cold soak prior to ferment to generate more fruit flavours. After 31 days of skin contact and going through malo-lactic fermentation in oak the wine gets 14-months barrel maturation in new (28%) French and older French and American oak barrels. Love the balance weight and finesse here. Perfectly mature.Tasted: 11 August 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
