Laughing Stock Vineyards Pinot Noir +09/10 2015

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaDusky forest berries, black plum, sapid raspberries from vineyards on Naramata Bench fill this very soft pinot noir. Fifteen percent of the fruit is whole cluster fermented in the "terminator", their 2600L French oak wood fermentation tank. The wine is then barrel aged for 14 months. There's a wave of smoke on the finish, perhaps reflective of the late summer forest fires that spread smoke throughout the valley. Tannins are worn soft and gummy, housing the warm, soupy palate. The wood is well integrated, but the palate lacks a bit of freshness (a.k.a. acidity). Duck confit on a cool damp evening is the match.Tasted: 22 August 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
