Tinhorn Creek Oldfield Reserve Merlot 2014
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe ‘14 Oldfield Reserve opens with boisterous aromas of smoke, earth, black fruits and milk chocolate, mixed with sweet vanilla and oak. Partial wild ferment, and partial whole berry has upped the fruit factor heading into an 18-month slumber in French oak barrels. It remains on the more rustic side but the intensity and fruit is better expressed than in previous versions suggesting it should age well through 2019.
