Barone Ricasoli Brolio-Bettino Chianti Classico 2013

Tuscany, ItalyBrolio Bettino is the latest label from the Tuscan innovator Baron Ricasoli. The 2103 is the first release bearing the DOCG Chianti Classico designation and is mostly unfiltered sangiovese with ten percent abrusco, or colorino, aged in large casks for a minimum 18 months. The nose is slightly reduced (be sure to splash decant your bottle) with forest floor and dried herbs predominating. The attack is round and supple with fresh red fruit and mineral notes. Best with an olive and sliced meats charcuterie plate. The wine is made in the traditional style of the firm’s founder. It was not filtered and it was matured it in big casks. It could be cleaner, but overall is promising.Tasted: 16 October 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
