Basilisco Teodosio Aglianico del Vulture 2012

Basilicata, ItalyBasilisco is Feudi di San Gregorio’s Basilicata property located in the commune of Barile. Here in the heart of Aglianico del Vulture DOCG they have a six-hectare, volcanic, tuff stone and clay property that is home to southern Italy’s flagship variety, Aglianico. The vineyards are managed in a minimalist manner to allow the fruit to reach a natural balance. The soils play a big part in the freshness here. The nose is a mix black fruits, mushrooms and spice. The attack is fresh with black cherry and leather notes and some grippy tannins yet to be dispensed. You could drink this now with grilled meats or wait through 2020 for it to reach a more harmonious state. Good value.Tasted: 29 December 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
