Champagne JM Labruyere Prologue Brut NV NV

Champagne, FranceThis grower from Verzenay uses all Grand Cru fruit, 7 ha in total. This cuvee is 70/30 pinot/chardonnay. disgorged june 2016 after 35 months on lees. Oxidative up front, with creme brûlée, brioche, honeycomb, lemon curd, cherry eau de vie, vanilla and almonds. Prologue is quite intense and long, lightly gritty, with a honeyed vanilla and highly spicy finish. Only 4.8 g/l RS keeps this tight, despite the rich characters on the palate. Ready for steak tartare or sashimi. The Labruyère family’s roots in Beaujolais go back to 1850. Burgundy, and Champagne, came with growth over the generations.Tasted: 09 December 2017Tasted by: Treve Ring & Anthony GismondiPrices:
