Napa County, California, United StatesA Napa County wine that mixes 43/34/11/7/5 merlot, cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot, malbec and cabernet franc. The nose is ripe with black cherries, cedar, vanilla and a generous pinch of baking spice. The attack is a touch hard at this point with ripe cassis, black pepper and smoky French oak. At 14.5 percent alcohol, it strives to keep it all together as it works through some smoke and dense tannins in the finish.
