Clos du Soleil Estate Reserve Red 2013

Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe estate wines, noted by their white label, are seen as the pinnacle of their portfolio, and reflective of their Keremeos estate vineyards. The 2013 (current release) Reserve Red is a blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc, petit verdot and malbec. Seventeen months in French oak was capped with being bottled unfined and unfiltered. Heady cherry, ripe black raspberry, dark earth, cassis on the plush, seamlessly elegant palate, seasoned with raspy black pepper and lined with a forest berry undergrowth. Licks of dark violet dart around, bounded by finely dusky tannins and lingering with a fine mineral salts. A great match struck between structural and approachable, this is savoury / brooding yet highly drinkable now, but will continue to cellar short term.Tasted: 08 December 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
