Lariana Cellars Viognier 2016

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe sloping site facing Osoyoos Lake helps the grapes hold their freshness in the hot Okanagan sun. The grapes were whole cluster pressed before fermentation in a 1800L concrete egg and one neutral French oak barrel. It was kept on fine lees, with regular battonage. The attention to detail paid off in this impressive wine. Creamy and lush, yet finessed and restrained, with a fine filigree of grip framing wild honeysuckle, dried sage, Anjou pear, mandarin, apricot and honeydew over a fine butter base. The wine feels light on its feet, in spite of its 14 percent alcohol. Drinking beautifully now. One of Canada's top viogniers by leaps.Tasted: 05 December 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
