La Crema Saralee's Vineyard Chardonnay 2015
Russian River, Sonoma County, California, United StatesMost of you are too young to remember when the winery was called La Crema Vinera or the “best of the vine,” back in 1979. Saralee’s Vineyard lies in the heart of the Russian River Valley, honouring one of the region's most respected wine growers. The 2015 vintage is highly expressive, offering up tropical orange and crystalline lemon, honeydew, and yellow plums. The palate is similar with even more intense pear and lemon curd flavors and caramel. The textures are lush but not overbearing due to a line of minerality and freshness in the back end. Hedonistic and just plain fun to drink, this is New World chardonnay with a sense of place.
