Llopart Brut Rose Reserva 2015

Penedès, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainPouring a pink blush hue, on the palate fine raspberry and cherry bump up against red apple, toasted almond biscotti and lightly smoked stones. The red fruit is well-harnessed, and complements rather than competes in this cava, finishing with a gentle swell of sweetness and a good dose of finesse and length. This is a blend of 19-28 year old estate monastrell, garnatxa and pinot noir, farmed organically and with 18 months on the lees. The Llopart clan are recorded as viticulturists dating back to 1385 (!) at their current estate. They have been making Cava since 1887. Today's sparkling labels reference the first lithograph Cava labels, illustrating the familial house, vineyards and surroundings.Tasted: 25 February 2018Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
