Cenyth Red 2014

Sonoma County, California, United StatesLove the finesse here, plus the nod to the Old World with only 13.5 percent alcohol. The nose opens slightly reduced before lifted red fruit aromas and flavours kick in with raspberries, cherries and plums. The textures are silky with earthy undertones and a touch of balsamic in the finish. Impressive and needs time, five to seven years, to really show its stuff. The blend is 60 percent cabernet franc, 25 percent merlot, 10 percent cabernet sauvignon, and 5 percent malbec all aged in French oak (30 percent new) for 10 months. Interestingly the wine is made by two second gen kids. Winemaker Hélène Seillan (daughter of Pierre Seillan) makes the wine while Julia Jackson (daughter of Jesse Jackson and Barbara Banke) created the art on the label.Tasted: 15 March 2018Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
