Barone di Valforte Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2015
Abruzzo, ItalyThis wine surprises with its gushing mulberry, black cherry, black plum fruit that spills across the palate. Medium bodied, it jumps to life with some lively mid-palate acidity touched with a bit of smoke and tannin. Grilled pork or lamb chops would be the ticket here or a meaty pizza. This was vinified in stainless before spending ten months in French oak.
