Ca' La Bionda Valpolicella Classico Superiore Casalvegri 2019

Veneto, ItalyCa’ La Bionda is nestled in the common of Marano di Valpolicella, in the heart of the historically classic zone of Valpolicella. The winery was founded in 1902 by Pietro Castellani, and their organically certified 29 hectares of vineyards is currently overseen by the fourth generation. This single vineyard blend of 70% Corvina, 20% Corvinone, and 10% Rondinella and Molinara is planted in very rocky clay limestone at 150-300m. It was fermented in steel, and aged for 18 months in 3000L barrels. Morello cherries, subtle wax, worked suede is lit with bright limestone acidity, streaming this fresh, medium bodied red to a stony, spiced floral finish. Tannins are long and fine, and the lively acidity is limestone laced. Very finessed and graceful.Tasted: 26 January 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
