Castelvecchio Carso Sauvignon 2022
Friuli-Venezia Giulia, ItalyCastelvecchio is a part of the Karst (Carso) area in the province of Gorizia. The dry, rocky soils are layered with red sand, iron, and limestone, and the vineyards are cooled by breezes from the Istrian Peninsula. This organic sauvignon blanc was fermented and aged on lees in stainless. Tightly wound, this textural sauvignon streams stones, herbal lemon balm, and verbena along a chalky base, finishing with a bright lemon twist.
