Castelvecchio Pinot Grigio 2022

Friuli-Venezia Giulia, ItalyCastelvecchio is a part of the Karst (Carso) area in the province of Gorizia The dry, rocky soils are layered with red sand, iron, and limestone, and the vineyards are cooled by breezes from the Istrian Peninsula. This organic pinot grigio was fermented and aged on lees in concrete. Golden yellow in the glass, this medium+ white is layered with perfumed honeysuckle, ripe quince, and textured with apricot fuzz along a waxen palate. Quite textural, yet fresh via the limestone and sea breezes, this would work with richer Mediterranean vegetable or shellfish dishes.Tasted: 24 July 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
