Fontanabianca Barbera d'Alba 2020

Piedmont, ItalyThe nose mixes dry, earthy Italian notes with floral red fruit. The palate is alive that Barbera way, with bright acidity but not over the top. Plum, cherries, and savoury, dried herbs and earth mix with a silky texture, leaving this red poised to take on any fall and winter fare easily. A pork roast would be a perfect match at this point. This Barbera hails from Neive, Piedmont and the 30 year old vines are grown over clay and limestone 250 metres above sea level. The winemaking is traditional, with aging in large and small barrels for 9-12 months followed by 4-6 months in bottle before it is released.Tasted: 22 September 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
